Calculus Course Description: This is an advanced placement course in mathematics. This course includes applications of limits and derivatives; integration; special functions. It is an introductory course with elementary functions. It generally provides the avenue for a student to advance place in one semester of calculus in college.

Supply List


Each student is asked to bring the following classroom supplies:

  • Notebook or Binder with paper
  • Pencils and Erasers
  • Calculator (graphing preferred but not necessary) – not a required item, but extremely helpful





Grading Policies


Daily Grades (50% of grade)

  • Binder/Notebook checks
  • Homework quizzes
  • Other participation assignments

Major Grades (50% of grade)

  • Tests
  • 3 to 4 tests per term
No work, no credit. 

Extra Credit is available after original credit is received

***This is an AP Course.  The goal is to learn the material well enough to gain one semester college credit via the AP test.  The test costs about $90.  You should start saving now so can pay on time.  Passing the AP test can, potentially, save you hundreds of dollars in college tuition fees. 

Calculus I in college ranges from $220 to $550 for in-state tuition and more for out-of-state tuition.  The price for college courses will only increase with time.
